Directions & Map

The ride will start/end on the air strip of the LBJ Ranch (near Stonewall, TX), which is the LBJ National Historical Park. 

From the direction of Austin on Hwy 290, go north to Johnson City on Hwy 290/Hwy 281, and continue on Hwy 290 west of Johnson City for about 15 miles. Right after the small community of Hye, Ranch Road 1 (RR1) veers off to the right.  Continue on RR1, until the intersection with Park Rd 49.  Take a right on PR 49, and take an immediate left after you cross the Pedernales River and go through the Ranch entry. 

From the west, take Hwy 290 out of Fredericksburg, again for about 15 miles, until the RR1 intersection. Take a left onto RR1 and continue past the visitor center to PR 49.  Take a left on PR 49, and take an immediate left again after you cross the Pedernales River and go through the Ranch entry.

All vehicular parking is on the tarmac, on the northern portion of the airstrip. After entering the LBJ Ranch, the Rangers will be there to direct you.
